Angie's Amazing Race/Pink Ribbon Project

In 2006, a group of friends volunteered their time to hold a benefit rally for the New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Foundation's Pink Ribbon Project in memory of a dear friend who died from Breast Cancer. Angie Holliday had touched the lives of many and it was with great pride and success that the first annual Angie's Amazing Race was held. It was a three-hour road rally that entailed a series of riddles and questions that had to be solved to determine the winners of the rally. The rally wrapped up with food, beverage, prizes, music, a silent auction, live auction and a tour of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Coastal Care Van. Everyone who participated had a large and enjoyable time.


On October 11th 201, Angie's Angels will hold it's 10th and FINAL Angie's Amazing Race. The location will be at 6620 Market St. Carolina Coast Harley Davidson

We are seeking sponsorship donations, either monetary / food / auction / or door prize items to support the event. All proceeds will go to the NHRMC Foundation's Pink Ribbon Project, and stay in our community.

Angie's Angels thank you for your time and consideration in helping us promote breast cancer awareness. This year the pink Ribbon Project has provided over 1000 Mammograms locally within 6 counties thus far for 2014. ALL proceeds benefit the Pink Ribbon Project and 100% goes toward mammograms and providing comfort care bags for women with a cancer diagnosis.

A Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit

Sponsorship Proposal Angie's Amazing Race 10th Annual
Event date October 11th, 2015

Goal:

Our mission is to save lives through the availability of breast cancer awareness resources; and to make treatments more comfortable for those who are dealing with this cancer.

Breast cancer can strike men as well as woman. Early detection and knowledge of the symptoms are crucial for a successful fight.

The goal of the rally is to raise money and awareness for the New Hanover Regional Medical Foundation's Pink Ribbon Fund. All the monetary proceeds from the rally registration, T-shirt sales, auction sales, and sponsor contributions are given to the NHRMC Foundation's Pink Ribbon Fund. The donations help provide comfort bags, which include inspirational books, a planner to keep up with appointments and a small pillow sewn by local seniors to use as an armrest during chemotherapy. The funds also go toward free mammograms, for those who cannot afford a screening.


History:

On October 1, 2006 a group of friends held the first annual Angie's Amazing Race in memory of Angie Holiday and her "race" against breast cancer. Angie was a dear friend who fought a courageous battle with breast cancer for 9 years before her passing. Our first annual "Angie's Amazing Race" rally was a huge success with over 150 participants on motorcycles and in cars.
Our first rally brought in over $5,000. Angie's Amazing Race has continued to grow in participants, sponsors and contributions each year. The race has, through 2014, contributed over $157,231.49 to NHRMC Foundation's Pink Ribbon Project. Angie's Angels continues to be recognized as a special contributor to the project. All our sponsors are also listed in the NHRMC magazine.


Coverage:

There will be television, newspaper and magazine coverage from WWAY, WECT, Wilmington Star News, a local radio station, "Full Throttle" magazine, the "NHRMC Foundation" magazine, the "Wrightsville Beach Magazine", "WILMA Magazine", "Topsail Beach Magazine" and "Focus on the Coast" magazine. Frances Weller, from WECT TV6 has participated in and promoted our past events. This rally is a rain or shine event. Everyone has a great time for a great cause. Location TBA
