Who are we:
1. My name is Melody Mooney. I am a mother, and a writer for GeekMom, a popular online magazine/blog founded in 2010 to explore geek-related topics written by mothers, for parents, concerning all things related to geeky parenting. You can read more about GeekMom at GeekMom.com.
2. My relation to the party we are raising funds for (UNICEF) is purely charitable in nature. As someone who lives in an earthquake-prone region here in Southern California, I feel it's important to support those impacted by earthquakes worldwide, as I hope others would support Southern California when a devastating earthquake strikes here. I also hope to use this experience to teach my child (who is the subject of the aforementioned article) about charity.
3. 100% of all funds, except for any fees paid to GoFundMe, will go to the UNICEF earthquake disaster relief fund. You can read more about UNICEF's earthquake relief fund here: Nepal Earthquake Relief Underway: 1.3 Million Children Need Aid

Sharing tragedy with children is never easy.
When we learned of the 7.8 earthquake is Nepal, we decided as a family to help the children and families of that devastated region.
Ella Rose is a 4-year old living in Los Angeles CA USA, an area known for its own earthquake threat. She has been learing about earthquake preparedness, sharing, compassion; and working together in her preschool. Ella has been saving her piggy bank money for her own family emergency fund.
Ella would now like to share her money with the children of Nepal who need help after the earthquake.
Please join her in giving much needed aide to the families in the Nepal region.
We will be giving all donations, everything raised here to
UNICEF
They have people in the ground helping families now.

Nepal Earthquake: Help Children Now
A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake near Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu has claimed more than 3,000 lives, caused thousands of injuries, and destroyed homes and infrastructure. Nearly 1 million children require humanitarian assistance, and UNICEF is on the ground working to provide critical aid to children and families.
When it comes to emergency and disaster relief, UNICEF is there for children—before, during and after a crisis.
