Repeal Plastic Bags Ban

You want to watch this movie: Are You Being Told the Truth About Plastic Bags? on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdQUzxp9Mfw

Many of us use plastic bags for trash and pet waste. Without them, we have to buy much thicker and bigger trash bags. How is that better?

Paper bags came from trees and cause more green house effect. To make paper bags, we need to cut down trees, debark them, chop and dice them, add water to make pulp, squeeze water out to make paper. The processes consume a lot more energy and resources. How is that better?

Plastic bags came from natural gas, not oil. They are made in USA! Recycled bags are made in China. How is that better?

The bans supporters claim that only 3% plastic bags have been recycled. Have they counted the ones we used for trash and pet waste?

This movie call out the good-guys-in-green-coats on the myths and misrepresentations they help perpetuated.

Repeal all these bags bans! Bag the bans indeed!

Use a plastic bag! Save a tree!

Do not let eco-fads hurt our environment!

And read this book, too: Eco-fads: how the Rise of Trendy Environmentalism is Harming the Environment by Todd Myers of Washington Policy Center, WA.

I am trying to help out the people at a citizen group called "Stop the Bag Ban" who have launched the first ever bag ban repeal effort in Campbell, California. They are working on collecting the 3,000 signatures needed to qualify a repeal initiative for the ballot. If successful, the people of Campbell will actually be the first to get the right to vote on the silly bag ban imposed by their city council! Let's help them out in this effort, and allow the people to actually speak about this issue rather than have brainwashed city council members take away their personal rights against their will over the silly notion that banning the entire population from using a product is the way to stop a few bad litterers.

You can visit their website here:

And print and sign the petition on home page, and help spread the words / petition.

Let's work on achieving our first success. Please donate $5, $10, $15, $20 or any thing you can.

Thank you.
