Graduating

In 2007, at the age of 60, I started work on a PhD at the University I was teaching in - Ubon Ratchathani University in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. I successfully defended my thesis (A U.S. AWAKENING TO COMMUNITY BUSINESS: Business as if people and place matter) in January 2011. I had budgeted $1400 to make the trip back for commencement in December. There has been a lengthy snafu over faculty and university acceptance of the requirements but all of the hurdles have finally been cleared. In that two and a half years the airfare has increased to $2,033. I would like the opportunity to accept my diploma from the Crown Princess in December. I really only need to make up the $633. With no job in the last almost 3 years (with the economy and being a woman over 60) extra money has not been forthcoming.
