Less than 24 hours util we start. My girls are ready!!!
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, I present to you our total as of Wednesday before the race!!!! Thank you all soooooo much!!! Don't get discouraged if you haven't donated yet. We will accept donations 2 weeks after the Miles for Nile event.
Got to see my buddy today!! He was thrilled as you can tell :)
$814 REMAINING!!!!! With 9 days left we have $814 left to hit our goal of $10,000!!!! We can do this. Don't forget I am still looking for YOU to come run/jog/walk with me on October 26-27
We are officially 11 days out!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! Let's make this happen!!! Not much left to hit our goal.
Look who got outside yesterday!!!! Thanks so much to everyone who has donated. With exactly 2 weeks until race day we have $1264 left to raise. We can do this together. From today that's $90.28 per day to raise!!! We will gladly accept donations for about 2 weeks after race weekend, but let's hit our goal before then.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Miles for Nile. We are 18 days out from the Equalizer Endurance Run and at 85% of our fundraising goal. If you haven't made a donation yet, don't let how close we are to the goal deter you. Every dollar counts to supporting Nile and the rest of the Morris family!!
Even with all of the needle sticks, vomiting, fevers and being in the hospital for the past 6 weeks, this kid can steal your heart with his smile while playing with his food :)
Like father, like son :)
Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Miles for Nile. We will be selling t-shirts to commemorate the event and show our support of Nile. We encourage everyone to wear them on October 26th. If you are interested in purchasing a shirt, click on the "Contact" button under the "Created by Brad Dains" in the upper right and indicate your size. We are thinking the color will be a yellow shirt, but not 100% certain. Thanks to Marc Morris for getting the ball rolling on the shirts!!
As many of you have probably read by now, Nile is constantly getting blood transfusions. Although I don't think you can specify where your donation goes, the Blood Center of Iowa is constantly in need of your blood donations and can help Nile in more ways than you can believe. Please consider going to the link below and find a way to donate TODAY!!! For those who don't like needles, it's not that bad...and you get cookies :)
Look who got to go outside yesterday!!!!

"Miles for Nile"
is an event taking place on October 26-27, 2013 where Brad Dains will be running for 24 hours during the Equalizer Endurance Run
to raise funds to assist the family of Nile Morris.
Nile is a 20-month boy who was recently diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis
(LCH) which is a rare disease that is believed to affect less than one in 200,000 children.
Scientists do not agree on whether LCH is a type of cancer or is a condition caused by a change in the immune system. LCH is mainly treated with anticancer drugs
. Some of these drugs are also used to treat immune system conditions.
LCH may occur at any age, but is most common in young children, but
any age group can be affected. It occurs most often between the ages of 1
As part of the treatment, Nile will undergo treatments that are very similar to cancer treatment (including Chemotherapy) and will be given medications to increase his immune system and help his body to learn to fight off infections and bacteria that our bodies naturally fight off without intervention.
As a part of the fundraising campaign, "Miles for Nile" will be accepting three different types of donations. Flat donations will be accepted prior to the Equalizer Endurance Run to use for medical bills and other expenses that come with this very expensive treatment.
The second option takes place during the event as "Miles for Nile" will be asking for donations per mile that Brad will be running.
Keep in mind that this is a 24 hour event where Brad is hoping to run over 100 miles. For example, if you would like to donate $0.25 per mile and if he does run 100 miles your donation amount will be $25. Easy as pie.
The third option would be to make checks payable to Corey or Melissa Morris to be made:
River Valley Credit Union
C/O Corey &
2811 East 13th Street
P.O. Box 747
Ames, IA 50010-0747
If you would like to make a donation with the second option and have questions or would like to make your pledge prior to the event, please use the "Contact" button located in the blue bar below to contact the event organizer.
Also, if you would like to join Brad to run/walk during the event, please email using the "Contact" button located in the blue bar below for more information.
