Haggen Foods Stole my Money
I was a long time employee at Safeway. I was loyal, and I worked hard. Safeway and Albertson's merged, and due to laws designed to protect Americans from monopolies, the store I worked at was sold.
The company that bought my store also purchased more than a hundred other stores. This expansion was bold, and because of managerial malfeasance and incompetence, failed miserably. Haggen Foods filed for bankruptcy, and put a stop payment order on the payroll checks they issued to their hardworking employees.
I am owed a little under one thousand dollars for my hard work and labor for this company. Because you can't get blood from a turnip, or money from a theif, Haggen Foods will very unlikely ever pay what they owe me.
I have to pay my bills: food; rent; power; gas for my car. This theft from me has left me unable to do so.
