Recovery from Wreck & Fire

Donation protected
A few days ago, I was on my way to Louisiana, where I will be opening a new office of Torah's Light Ministries. I had loaded up practically everything I owned - and everything for Torah's Light Ministries - and set out in faith on another leg of the journey of my calling in ministry.

You know you are doing something God's way when the enemy doesn't like it, right?

Well, about a third of the way through my trip, just outside of Louisville, Kentucky, I was rear-ended on the highway. I lost control of my truck, which then flipped five times.

[The profile photo on this page is what was left of the truck after the accident and fire. Here's what a truck like mine looks like BEFORE tumbling five times and burning to bits: ]

When the world stopped tumbling, I was sitting in my mangled truck, trying to make sense of what just happened. I smelled gasoline, and then realized the truck was already on fire. I knew I had to get out before the gas tank blew, and tried to free myself.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get myself out alone - thank God, the man who HIT me actually pulled me out to safety. He helped me get away from the burning wreckage just before the gas tank exploded in a fireball.

[Again, THIS is what my truck looked like AFTER: ]

The next thing I knew, paramedics were there tending to me, telling me they were amazed I was even alive - let alone able to walk away from the crash.

[You can see in this pic burns on my face and shoulder. This was taken right after I left the hospital - I still had the monitor marks on my chest.]

As I lay on the stretcher, two things came to my mind:

1 - I was blessed, amazed and thankful to be alive!

2 - I had just lost everything. EVERYTHING.

I lost all my clothes, shoes - everything that allows me to be a "presentable" human being in polite company [haha].

I lost my guitars and my X-Box, my television and stereo and other furniture.

I lost personal items - irreplaceable and sentimental - which causes a great deal of grief to me. I can only hold them now in my memory.

But beyond all of those things, I realized that in this accident, I lost everything that allowed Torah's Light to operate on a day-to-day basis:

- the ministry phone

- the ministry computer

- books, office supplies and records
- materials and fund-raising projects
- my library of Hebrew & Christian reference books

This, effectively, puts Torah's Light Ministries at a standstill until I can replace what was lost and get back to the work of the ministry.

But, you see - I know my God - I know in Him Whom I have believed, and I know He is faithful!

I know He has already put people out there - people like YOU - who will lovingly sow seed into Torah's Light Ministries, and help us get back on our feet again.

The ministry of Torah's Light exists to exalt Jesus Christ by sharing the Jewish roots of Christianity, and I am continually amazed and blessed by the opportunities God gives me to share this knowledge with others.

I am also amazed and blessed by the responses I get - usually something along the lines of "WOW - I had no idea there were so many beautiful, intricately woven layers of my Christian faith! I want to learn MORE!"

Stand with me and help get this vital ministry going again!

It is not lost on me that this accident occurred just before Rosh Hashanah - the time when God celebrates the anniversary of creating the Earth - commonly called "the Jewish New Year".

I am praying and believing that this season will birth a NEW YEAR for Torah's Light Ministries, and that what the enemy meant for evil, God will turn for good!!!

I thank each of you in advance for your prayers, your financial support and for the encouragement so many have already offered.

Please, continue to encourage me - I know I will need each one of you as I move forward in rebuilding not only my own personal life, but rebuilding this wonderful Ministry given into my keeping.

And, please, prayerfully consider giving whatever you can - no gift is too small - and sow seed into Torah's Light, and into the lives of everyone who will be touched by our ministry in the future.

God Bless You All!
