Rileys Hit And Run Surgery Fund

On Saturday 6th May at approximately 10:30am, our family dog, Riley, a 10 month old Labrador cross was struck by a car on a busy main road after escaping from the back garden by breaking off the lock to go exploring.
Riley was struck by a potential speeding car, where the owner of the car did not stop and fled the scene without any concern. Riley was left struggling in the road up until our realisation of the events that had just unfolded. We came rushing out to Riley’s aid and made an immediate visit to our local vets.
Unfortunately, after several scans and consultations, we were told that Riley required surgery in order to remove the top part of his hip and also a part of his thigh bone - as the break was that bad.
Due to our current circumstances, we were unable to find the funds in order to pay for the surgery and aftercare that Riley needed to make a recovery.
Our only other resort was the services of the PDSA, who are a fantastic animal charity that offer care to over 451,000 pets a year. There is no other animal charity that compares to the PDSA in terms of the scale and impact it has on animal welfare and it is a charity that is often taken for granted.
In addition to our own donation, we are aiming to raise enough funds in an attempt to cover the costs covered by the PDSA and simply offer something in return. If you are able to make any donations, however little, the funds will be donated straight to the PDSA for them to continue the great work that they do.
If you are unable to make a cash donation, then the PDSA have various charity shops all over the UK where your unwanted items can be taken in to be sold. In 2015, £4.4 Million was raised from PDSA charity shops and all the money raised was invested back into the charity.
