Cao Van Nguyen's Funeral Funding
Donation protected
From Huong, Thao, and Hieu Nguyen:
For those who knew our dad, you know he could always make anyone laugh and feel at home.
Our dad, Cao Van Nguyen, recently and suddenly passed away on May 6, 2017 due to a fishing boat accident. He was a wonderful husband, father of three, and avid fisherman. You can learn more about him by visiting his obituary page: https://secure.funeralhomehosting.com/ksf/notices/Cao-Nguyen.
We miss him so much, and we are still processing this unforeseen event. Currently, we are in the midst of finanilizing his funeral viewing, cremation, and the reception. The cost of the viewing and cremation is $5180, not including the additional cost for flowers ($500+), his urn (400+), and the food for the viewing and reception. My dad had to have an autopsy, so the results will not come back until a month or two later. We will be issued a temporary death certificate, but we need his final death certificate to move forward with things and figure out payments.
We are trying to take it one day at a time. Once we have our viewing and service on May 11th, we will move forward with other expenses. My mom is currently in a temporary position at a candy factory, and the mortgage on the house (along with other bills) is overwhelming with one income down. My dad was the primary income source, and we see financial difficulty in the future. With a temporary death certificate, we can only do so much.
We would appreciate any contribution that you can make towards my dad's funeral expenses and future costs with the mortgage and bills. We are trying to help my mom out as best we can, but two of us are still in school. We have received so much kindness and support from our family and friends, and please know that we are so grateful. It takes a village, and we are so thankful for ours.
If you would like more information about the funeral viewing and service, please reach out to us through this funding site.
Warmest Regards,
Huong, Thao, and Hieu.

3. What is our relationship to Cao Nguyen? Huong and Oliver are the oldest daughter of Cao Nguyen and fiance of the oldest daughter respectively
4. What will the funds be used for? The funds will be used to help pay for the costs associated with the:
a. Funeral - viewing, cremation, urn, food for the viewing and reception.
b. Supporting the Family - as Cao passed so suddenly and he was the primary income source, we forsee issues with paying for the mortgage, bills, car insurance, student loans and other living expenses, particularly as described above, the final death certificates may be delayed several months so many processes (e.g., transferring accounts, social security, house property, car payments, life insurance) will therefore be delayed.
c. Final expenses - copies of the death certificate, lawyer fees for helping deal with life insurance, the mortgage, etc.
d. Help cover the GoFundMe Fee (7% + 30 cents/donation)
5. When we withdraw the funds, how are we planning to send the funds to the parties we are raising money for or use the money on their behalf? When we withdraw the funds, Huong will oversee the distribution of the funds. The funds will be sent to Huong's mom, who is tapping into her savings account to pay for the funeral expenses. The final payment is due by 5/15 in order for our family to receive a discounted rate for the funeral expenses ($5180) not including flowers, urn, and food. The funds will not be withdrawn all at once, as there wil be other costs that will come up after the funeral.
