Back story
Tekaiyah my 14 year old daughter is a budding artist and creative spirit, who has been the greatest and most supporting daughter and big sister to a mother with a long term health condition and a brother, Traevon who has spent the last 7 years of his life in and out of hospital. She works hard in school and especially at home caring for us. She cooks, cleans and stays on top of her homework, she has been devoted and caring to us, the sick ones, for the last 7 years. She truly is a blessing. Her experience with supporting an ill mother and brother has inspired her to want a career in medicine.
Traevon, my little warrior King, has spent the last 7 years battling with his allergies, severe skin infections and an extreme case of Eczema that disabled him. He spent more time locked away at home or in the children's ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital, than he did living the life of a normal healthy primary school aged child. Even though we spent many days and nights crying and wrapping him like a mummy and dosing him up with medication, Traevon has stayed strong and inspired me to be stronger, his sister, as well as the children in his school with his caring and loving attitude. Considering he as been through so much he is always trying to help someone else.
Which is where our call for your financial help comes in.
The aim is to raise money to launch Traevon's series of books entitled "TJ the SuperKid"*Copyright and develop the brand, which he first started writing at the age of 6. His big sister and cousin are drawing the illustrations.
Traevon decided one day while laying in my hospital bed, where I spent a month of my life battling with a condition called Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension. Traevon decided to start writing a story to help "sick people feel better." He opened my laptop and started writing his first TJ the SuperKid Story. Once he finished he read the story to me. The story really did make me feel better. I was full of pride and love. My little warrior king was battling a serve flare at the time and could barely walk yet he wanted to make me feel better.
About the books
"TJ the SuperKid is a 9 year old boy, who spends a lot of time in the children's hospital. He is very poorly but absolutely loves an adventure. Every trip to the hospital takes him on a journey, from the Pryamids in Egypt to the moon all is his Teleport Machince. He meets famous people of the world and super heroes who are out to save the good children (who happen to be other sick children in the hospital) from the evil villians (the illnesses that the children are fighting)."
Once we launch the books a percentage of all sales will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital, in London. We are trying to raise a minimum of £5,000 in order to self-publish the books, promote and sell the books. Every penny donated will be used to create this series and launch it. We aim to have the first book released by the end of the Summer. Any money leftover will be donated to Great Ormond Street. We will also be donating a large quantity of these books to children's hospitals around the country.
So please be generous and help us to put a smile on the faces of sick children and adults around the world.
