Hello everyone!

I thought i'd open up and tell you a little about myself and what I aim to do with my goal here.


My name is Mekala and I was raised in a city built on Route 66 in Texas. I've spent the majority of my life learning how to draw and to be a better artist, both in my art and as well as in my personality. I have been self taught the majority of my life up until my last years in high school and then later graduating from my community college with an associates in fine arts and science. The area I live in isn't as artistically influenced as it thinks it is, so i've spent the majority of my time working to better my art through learning from other artists online. But I never have stopped learning and always have a sketchbook somewhere nearby to draw or jot something down, or have a camera to snap a photo for reference later.


But ever since high school I have spent some of that time in and out of the hospital, and now live with a few medical issues that limit me on what jobs I can choose to do. Medical bills and medication isn't the cheapest either, especially if your out of luck for medical insurance, so over the past several years I have been making a living from my artwork, but being a traditional artist supplies get very expensive and drawing everyday can ware out my wrist if I over use it. Also depending on how I feel also depends on if I can work that day or need to take a break, which is one of the reasons why I can't hold down a 9 to 5 job down as easily. Thankfully my artwork not only helps make a couple of dollars for living expenses, it also is very therapeutic and helps keep me stress and anxiety free, which in turn helps keep my chronic pain and seizures down to a minimum.


Though at the moment I live at home with my family till I can become more stable. I would love to make it a full time job and become more independent and possibly move into my own place where I not only put out hand drawn art, but also sculptures, charms, buttons, stickers, shirts, art dolls, and more! I have so many ideas to do, and I have many people who are interested, but my only restrictions are funds.


So here's where I ask for your help, if you help me these funds will go towards a number of things that i'll use day to day and help grow my business more!

*print making supplies for original hand pulled prints
*screen printing for shirts and bandannas

And so much more!


I will also be giving out rewards for those who help to fund my endeavor, so you won't have to walk away completely empty handed.
