Stick a needle in your eye

Hi. I'm Mandi. I'm a nurse who is now on the other side of the healthcare equation.
This is called "stick a needle in your eye" because that is one of the lovely treatments I have endured multiple times over the last year to fight an autoimmune disease in my eyes.
The term for this is http://www.uveitis.org/patients/support/parsplantis-org">"pars planitis" and it is rare and potentially blinding condition.
My doctors suspect that I may also have a systemic autoimmune disease called "sarcoidosis". This is the disease that took the life of Bernie Mac.
The only way to tell is by cutting open my eyes.
This disease basically causes my body is destroying itself from the inside out. The immune system that usually protects the body from viruses and bacteria is attacking the blood vessels in my eyes.
The treatment has been complicated and I went on a chemotherapy medication last year. That medication, in addition to massive doses of steroids, some injected directly into my eyes, has worked to an extent. But at the price of my body.
I no longer have health insurance because I can no longer work as a nurse and the medical bills are mounting. This week alone I amassed $3,000+ in medical bill debt.
I cannot receive optimal treatment for my condition because of the health insurance issue and the fact that my husband's two part time jobs do not offer insurance.
My family has helped me tremendously. But its a year in to this thing and it doesn't look like its ending any time soon.
I have taken care of my patients faithfully in many capacities over the last decade. Now I need help.
