Garnett Howard is 67 years old. He lives in Connecticut, where he is cared for by his loving sister, Leslie Howard.
Garn has an extensive and complicated medical history, which includes debilitating chronic nerve pain, blood clots in his lungs, Diabetes, Asthma and Congestive Heart Failure.
He is wheelchair bound due to chronic pain and the limited mobility he has, is due to his power wheelchair.
Garn requires oxygen 24 hours a day. After a long and successful career in Software Development, Garn is unable to work due to his medical problems. His sister Leslie has given up her own career as a Family Therapist to diligently care for him at home.
Garn and Leslie are being evicted from their home, due to their inability to meet their mortgage payments.
They will be living in a one-bedroom hotel room for the foreseeable future, until space opens in senior housing.
Garn and Leslie have faith in God, unlike any you have ever known. They are trusting that God will bring about the best outcome to meet their needs. And we can be a part of that.
We are raising money to meet an immediate for Garn's health. His doctor has decided that Garn needs a new power wheelchair. The one he has is many years old, and contributes to many of his pain issues by being old, outdated and a bad fit for his needs. His insurance will cover a portion of the cost, but we are hoping a new chair will make their hotel stay that much easier.
Garn also has serious dental issues that need to be addressed ASAP, but with the loss of their home, and the expenses required to move, he continues to wait for funds to be available.
PLEASE, help Garn and Leslie as they face this difficult move. No elderly person should be homeless, let's do all we can to make sure this transition is as smooth and easy as possible.
