Little Charley PORTER and Family
On the 26th September 2016 we took our son to emergency as he had gone all weekend with sore legs and refused to bare any weight, shortly after he was examined the doctors took bloods and we were told the devastating news that our precious little boy most likely had CANCER! What The F**k??!... I remember whispering to myself, (and almost 3 months later it still doesnt feel real) how could this be? We were rushed straight to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle (2 hours away from home) where we found out he had leukaemia (ALL) He had surgery to have a portacath placed under his skin in his chest where he recieves his chemo/has bloods taken and any IV medicine. So much for a little 2 year old. While he has responded really well to treatment and his chances of kicking cancers butt is good, we still have 3 YEARS of chemo treatments ahead of us. Thats where this gofundme page comes in..... Living 2 hours from his treating hospital, and 45minutes from our local hospital, our family is car is pushing 13years old with almost 300k kms on the clock knowing we have 3 more years of heavy travelling and no means of upgrading is a horrible, horrible feeling. So after having numerous people suggest setting up a gofundme over the last couple of months, we are finally doing it, in hopes of raising enough money to buy a newer, safer, more reliable, fuel efficient car to transport our precious cargo to and from his chemo appointments for the next 3 years. We dont like having to ask for help but given our current situation we feel there isnt another option. With help from scotts super fund and family letting us borrow some extra money we had enough money to purchase the much needed car for our boy. Thank you all so much. We will be closing the fund down in a few days once the last donation clears :)
