Hi, My name is Jake. My Father, Kevin, is a 60-year old former United States Marine. He and I have been homeless and living on the street the past 2 years trying to survive after the Bank took our family home. This left us with next to nothing and stranded in Maryland, several hundred miles from our extended family.
Though he was Honorably Discharged and is eligible for Veteran's Benefits he has been denied them 3 separate times without any explanation given as to why.
Due to the health problem my father has (Emphysema and diminished lung capacity from smoking, PTSD from his service during Vietnam, and several other severe health issues which make it a daily struggle for him to function normally), It's incredibly difficult for him to survive like this exposed to the elements on a daily basis. His health has slowly deteriorated further over the past two years of surviving and its beginning to take a visible toll on him.
Being a Marine, it's difficult for him to ask others for help like this... so I'm asking on his behalf.
My father is a brilliant man. He fought in Vietnam and served our Country with honor. Now he needs your help to survive and get back on his feet so we can buy a home near our extended family and start over.
Any and all help you can give him as thanks for his service would be greatly appreciated.
