Shedding our "Fat Wardrobe"

Getting skinny is expensive!

For the past two months my boyfriend, Jason, and I have been working to shed our excess weight. Our entire journey started 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with "Insulin Resistance"-- which is basically pre-diabetes. It's caused by a dramatic increase in weight, which I gained in the year after my grandfather died.

Since my diagnosis, Jason and I have been struggling to lose a combined 250 pounds.

It's been an uphill battle, that was pushed into overdrive when Jason was told he was "too fat" to go overseas and teach English in South Korea. Since then, we've been on a mission to lose the weight once and for all!

In the past two months, we've dropped a combined 70 pounds! It's been an amazing experience so far, but we're starting to feel the frustrations of not fitting into our clothes anymore.

It's an incredible feeling to be too small for your "fat size," don't get me wrong! But it's also a frustrating one because at this point we don't have the money to keep buying "in between" clothes while we continue to lose the weight.

That's where you come in!

We'd love any help we could get, paying for a new set of "In between" clothes each time we drop a size. You may be asking, "Why buy any new clothes at all, until you've reached your goal weight?"

For that, I have an answer: We both work in professional environments, meaning we have to look respectable. Also, continuing on this journey means having confidence in yourself. And owning clothes that fit breeds confidence. I should know, because lately I've been slacking on my outer appearance because my pants are falling down, and I feel like I'm back in college when I just wore jeans and sweatshirts... Now, that's all that fits.

BUT...

It's also expensive to continue buying clothes that you're not going to keep. So that's why we're turning to you dear friends, sweet family members and amazingly supportive community! Help us on our journey by donating money to buy our "in between" clothes. When we're done with each size, we will donate the clothing to those in need.

The money you donate will go to buy us a new set of clothes when we drop a size. A "set" includes: t-shirts, dress shirts, jeans, pants, a skirt/dress (for me) and undergarments. That way we're set for any occasion until we drop to the next size. $2,000 will give us $200 each to spend on a new set of clothes each time we drop a size.

Any money donated above our goal amount will be saved for the grand finale of clothes buying: OUR NEW SKINNY WARDROBE!!!! Something we're both greatly looking forward to!

I hope you can help us continue on this amazing journey we're on. 70 pounds down, 180 to go!
