Cinnamon Found A Forever Home

Donation protected
Her name is Cinnamon (formerly known as Scarlett). She's a 3.5 year old, 65 lb., rust colored, red-nose Pit Bull/French Mastiff mix and she has a smile that won't quit. Cinnamon had an owner that gave her to my neighbor for reasons unknown. My neighbor wasn't equipped on any level to care for a dog. Mainly because he lacks a heart and any kind of intelligence. He kept Cinnamon in a crate outdoors on his patio through crazy heat, rain, cold, etc. He rarely fed her, walked her, he certainly didn't give her love, he would scream at her, he hit her, he never had her long term ear infection treated, she had no water and she had to defecate and urinate where she slept. Despite numerous attempts from caring neighbors to remove the dog from this person's control, no animal protection agency would help. By law, animals are considered property and they don't have any rights.
Finally this pathetic excuse for a human being went out of town and days later called someone to look in on Cinnamon. So after about seven months of this pattern of neglect and abuse, Cinnamon was taken to the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, CA. She was microchipped and I had to wait for the first unworthy owner to be given a chance to claim Cinnamon. Not shockingly, they didn't come. Knowing that Cinnamon had had little exposure to humans or animals and that everything would overstimulate her and stress her out, I picked up Cinnamon from the shelter the second I was allowed to. She went straight to my amazing vet, Dr. Pasternak, who for the past month and a half has treated her kennel cough (respiratory infection), long running ear infection, etc. Because I already have a gorgeous pup at home who isn't into younger pups stealing her spotlight, I've had to board Cinnamon at the vet. So she's gone from crappy owner to tiny crate with a really crappy owner to a pen at a shelter to a small isolated kennel at the vet while she was recovering to a slightly bigger pen at the vet now that she's healthy. She's had daily attention and walks from Dylan at Karma Rescue whom I can't thank enough for her support. Cinnamon is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and has had full blood work that came back clean (yay!).

Starting this Saturday, Cinnamon will be going for a three week training program and she's already great with sit and stay! So here's the deal, I'm a girl of modest means and I underestimated the amount of money it would take to board and fix up Cinnamon while I try to find her a home. I'm asking for ANY size donation, great or small, to help keep Cinnamon happy, healthy and safe while trying to find a loving, responsible forever home. I'm also hoping that anyone who sees how adorable this little girl is will feel the need to be that loving, responsible forever home. Cinnamon loves people but she'll need to be in a home where she's the only child (no other animals or children) until she has the chance to feel secure and loved. I'm happy to show receipts to anyone who wants proof of expenses. Please support Cinnamon's care and, if you can, spread the word about her needing a forever home. xo
