That's about the only word I can think of at the moment to describe the generosity of so many of you. And I'm absolutely certain that doesn't even remotely come close to doing you all justice.
We originally started w/ a donation goal of $1,000 thinking "Well, wouldn't that be nice." We weren't sure we'd even get to that amount. Obviously we underestimated you.
What were we thinking?!?
But seriously, you all have been incredible. I (this is Jordan) probably haven't done a good enough job telling you that Matt (CCM's founder) is actually a resident of Moore. He and his family were one of the fortunate ones, but they have been on the ground helping others non-stop since the tragedy.
If you can call it that, the upside for the purposes of what we've been doing here is that we have a man on the front lines so there is no question that all of your generous donations will be going directly to those who need it.
I certainly understand anyone who may be skeptical of someone asking for donations online. I am constantly amazed and even more so disgusted by people who would try and take advantage of others in a time like this.
I can assure you this is not something like that and we are not those kind of people.
Here is a link to the Oklahoma Sooners website Matt & I run: www.crimsonandcreammachine.com. We are both on there on a daily basis and we're not going anywhere, so we're accountable I guess is what I'm saying.
Feel free to contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions or to simply to address any concerns you may have.
Just wanted to (1) post a quick update and (2) again thank everyone who has donated.
We've decided to donate all proceeds received to the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief. The reason for this is two fold. First, our CCM found, Matt Hofeld, has an affiliation with them and knows first hand all of the work they have done and will continue to do. Second, it's a local organization so there is no chance any of our donations will go to anyone other than the victims in Moore.
Not to imply otherwise had we donated to the Red Cross, but being that it is a national organization there is always that chance. We just felt it was very important to ensure any and all donations make it to those intended.
Again, thank you to everyone who has donated so far!
