The Frequency 49 Show

The Frequency 49 Show was launched almost a year ago as a way to both promote the San Francisco 49ers American Football team across the UK, and give British fans a way to voice their thoughts about the team.

Over the last 12 months the following, and it's associated Facebook group, have grown at an amazing rate. And we have reached listeners across the globe, not just in the UK.

When we launched the show on October 20 2015 we decided that The Frequency 49 Show would be, and always remain, a free show. Anyone, anywhere in the world could listen to the shows without cost. After all how could we promote the 49ers if people had to pay to listen to the show?

However there are still costs involved in running The Frequency 49 Show, hosting costs, equipment costs, advertising costs. In the first year these costs were met solely by the shows presenters.

As we move into our second year our hosting costs have come up for renewal. Having looked at various options to meet the costs of running and promoting The Frequency 49 Show we decided that crowdfunding would be a great choice. This way we can keep the show completely free to listen to, for everyone, and those that would like to can help contribute towards the running costs.

Online hosting for the show with Podbean costs £83 for 12 months and provides listeners access to the show across Windows, Android and IOS devices, and for that we get unlimited storage and unlimited listeners. Other costs include business card production that we hand out at events to promote The Frequency 49 Show and Skype call packages that allow us to interview former players, the likes of Brian Jennings and Tony Parrish.
