Ben's Top Surgery Fund

Two years ago, I came out as transgender. Throughout my childhood, I stuggled to identify with my assigned gender, and have felt a growing sense of dysphoria from that dissociation from my body. Every day I wake up wishing I could just throw on a t-shirt, and not have to bind to hide a part of me that was never meant to be there. I have decided to pursue top surgery, but insurance refuses to cover it, as it is not seen as medically necessary. Wearing a compression shirt every day causes long term health problems, such as irreversible tissue damage, back pain, and breathing problems, not to mention the emotional turmoil I experience daily. I am asking for donations to help me reach my goal and afford the cost of surgery and travel to be able to wake up each day and feel comfortable in my skin.
