Scholarships for Zippora Karz Class

Zippora Karz is a former New York City Ballet soloist and is the author of the book, "The Sugarless Plum." She is also a diabetes health advocate who herself was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes upon the beginning of her professional ballet career. Ms. Karz will present master ballet classes at the Gund Dance Studio for ages 8 and up on June 9, 2013. She will share expertise in the technique of George Balanchine, American classical ballet master, to students from dance schools from the greater Cleveland area. Following each class, Karz will provide her unique perspective in a question and answer period where participants are free to ask any questions they have pertaining to ballet and / or diabetes and taking care of your health while dancing. Ms. Karz's book will also be available for purchase. Each dancer will be provided with an autographed photo to serve as inspiration. She will also present programming with the Cleveland Public Library in conjunction with Ballet In Cleveland on June 8, 2013. *Ballet in Cleveland would like to use a large portion of these funds to provide scholarships to young students to take this class free of charge, and these funds will be allocated primarily to boys to come and share in the excitement of ballet- BALLET ISN'T JUST FOR GIRLS!
