Bundles for Babies in Afghanistan
Donation protected
The George Washington University's Afghan Student Association presents:
Bundles for Babies in Afghanistan
We will be collecting new or GENTLY used baby clothing, jackets, mittens, scarves, socks and blankets.
We are working in coordination with the British Afghan Women's Society to distribute these items to internally displaced Afghan families, as well as with the air transportation companies Global HeavyLift Holdings and Kalitta Air, who have generously donated air transportation services.
It is estimated that about 35,000 people are living in makeshift camps in and around Kabul. The vast majority of them are recent returnees or families fleeing the violence of the war throughout the country. In Kabul, their lives are harsh and plagued by hunger, sickness, and lack of basic necessities. Winter brings the additional, often deadly, challenge of sub-freezing temperatures.
Help us warm up their lives! Schedule a pick-up by e-mail [email redacted] or calling [phone redacted].
We will have the following two drop-off dates:
Sunday, April 7 from 3-6pm
Sunday, April 21 from 1-4pm
Grill Kabob Express
11213 Lee Hwy
Fairfax, VA 22030
If you cannot make it to these drop off dates, that is not a problem at all. Please e-mail me to schedule a pick-up in the DC/Metro Area. One of our ASA members will be happy to collect your donations.
