Speaking Out Against Domestic Violence
A brand new idea
I was given some advice by a fellow Domestic Violence advocate about my plans to do this online fundraiser, and she was right. There are some things that people need to be more aware of, and until I decided to look at the words that I had written in the previous writing, I found a few things to be the truth of this combined ministry, and that truth is that while it would be nice to run a countrywide commercial, and while the outfit that I had intended to do this with is one of the utmost successful of its kind, let alone most well run, and while it is that the creator of the program is a wonderful human being, it is not to be. The reason is that the co-founder of this Bi-Coastal ministry and I have is simple...while we know that having the help of a professionally recorded television spot would do wonders for our mission, we know, too, that the way that our Healing Ministry started was in a homegrown, thrift-store like manner, and was all about doing things our own way. And now, we would like to bring our own way to you all, with the hopes that you will help us bring our dreams to life. Please read on...
We, Rev. Dannie and I, know that ours is a ministry for the people, and that together, we are those ministers whose mission in this lifetime is to bring to life the healing for those who seek it, who need it, even crave it. Dannie and I, while we work from opposite sides of the country, we know that our work is important. We know that the healers who we train are trained for a specific set of people within the communities in which we each live. We know that through these people who we train that much healing in the areas in which they each excel will be had. While this is all fine and wonderful and good, we are also very well aware of the fact that we need some financial help so that we can bring to life these dreams that we have held within our selves. We know that it is easy to start a ministry, without paperwork even, but the way that the two of us run our very lives is the way that we run our Healing Ministry - with total transparency, turning away no one, even if they cannot afford to pay us for our time, and most of all, with the knowledge that we are here for a specific purpose and that purpose is a Divine one.
We are looking to raise about $5,000.00 . If we chose to look at things the way that I have been told a business can start at a minimum, it is that amount which will allow us to file papers, with the help of an attorney who is familiar with Nonprofit laws in each of our respective states. Yes, there are other things which this amount will help to purchase, such as our own means to record 30 second grassroots style spots for youtube, two small screen-print machines so that we can make our message seen and get our ministry some exposure on the backs of those who read the writings we create, and right now, those shirts will come in handy for a campaign which will raise awareness about Domestic Violence called "Project:Shades," where each person telling us their story will be giving their own account of their own story of survival from Domestic Violence. On the other side of that is a project being created by Dannie which will raise awareness about addiction and the role it plays in Domestic Violence. All of these things take some sort of seed money.
While we are aware that this is a large sum of money, what we are more aware of is that there is a need in our country for people to take notice of what happens at home, because what happens at home is indicated by the peace or lack thereof out in the world. We know that there is a lot of work to be done in the world, and we know that people are very leery about donating money to causes, but ours is one of those causes that, no matter what, must be seen to. Each of us is a Survivor of Domestic Violence and Emotional Abuse, and each of us became ministers for the simple fact that we know that through our Spiritual nature, we will be able, with the help of the Healers who we, ourselves, trained, forge change in the world, but we need some help.
What started out as something very small and very inclined to only be about each of our communities where we each live locally, has turned into something that is a nationwide thing.
If anyone reading this can help us out, we would very much appreciate it. And yes, we WILL take the actual assistance in the form of Legal Help, donated Screen Print Machines, used Laptops, the shirts to print our message on...ANYTHING THAT CAN BE UTILIZED TO GET OUR MESSAGE OUT INTO THE WORLD AT LARGE WILL BE GRACIOUSLY ACCEPTED and very well appreciated. No matter what happens, and no matter what amount of money we raise, we know that whatever Spirit grants us is from the very Heart of the Universe, and no gift, no donation will be turned away.
If you see anything at all that you might be able to help us out with - EVEN IF IT IS THE ACTUAL ITEM THAT WE NEED INSTEAD OF THE MONEY- and if it will be something that we can use to get our ministry and our healing services out into the world, it will be very dearly and truly and graciously accepted and appreciated...all we ask is that the things be of usable condition, even if the things are, themselves, pre-owned and used...
