My dear friends,
I would like to thank all of you for embracing me at this difficult time, for everything you have done to help me to deal with such unendurable pain.
Alex was a wonderful man, one of a kind. I was blessed to have him in my life. Each and every day with him was a celebration of love and joy.
I don't know how to continue living, but I know I have a lot of friends who will show me the way.
With love and gratitude, Karina
Alex is begging for two things only home and food. Both are not possible right now. With support of our friends I am working with Kaiser on evacuation plan. Russian doctors are almost agreeing to allow Alex's transportation, unless he gets worse. Now I am waiting for US doctors' decision.
Alex and I thank you all again and again for your support. The feeling of gratitude overwhelms me. I learned by heart that "No man is an island,
Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main."
And I thank you for that too.
Alex Levin was run over by a car while he was crossing the street in Vladivostok, Russia, a week ago. He is in critical condition in an ICU in a Russian hospital. He has had two surgeries and he is fighting for his life. He is conscious. Please keep him in your thoughts. A lot of people have asked about what they can do to help. That is how the idea of setting up a fund for Alex's recovery came about. Even a token donation will be much appreciated - simply showing your support for our beloved Karina and Alex is what counts. We know they will be most grateful for your outpouring of love and kindness.
Karina, I am overcome with grief. I will remember Alex as a man's man -- strong, authentic, sweet, sensitive, honest and so very real. I wish you peace and the warmth of an enfolding community of tender souls who love you and Alex deeply.
