OL District2 Junior Girls All Stars

Donation protected
A year after coming one win shy of playing in the Little League World Series, a group of local softball players is going to get another crack at their ultimate goal.

Formerly known as the Olivehurst-Linda junior softball team, the now rebranded District 2 squad took home the Northern California junior softball state championship with a 16-6 victory over District 47-Chico on Wednesday night in Rio Linda.

The majority of the girls on this year's District 2 team were members of the 2015 O-L major softball team that competed at the Western Regional tournament in San Bernardino.

Now competing at the junior level, these players are headed back to the Western Regionals, this time in Tucson, Ariz.

"These girls are on a mission," said manager Dan Martin, who was the skipper of last year's squad. "They've worked hard to get to this point so they can get the bad taste out of their mouth from last year. The whirlwind begins again."

The regional tournament begins on July 16 at 10:30 a.m. against the state champion from Washington.
We need your help in getting there, any donation helps!
Thank you and we appreciate all the love and support!
