Lily is a six year old dwarf kitty weighing 4.4 pounds. The video above was taken when she was her healthy & happy self. She would dance in circles for her food and when she wanted attention she would just flop over on her side until you scratched behind her ears.
My daughter found Lily in June of 2009, at 4 weeks of age. She was huddled and shivering in a corner of her apartment building, abandoned by her mom, a stray cat of normal size. My daughter took her in and as she aged without growing much, we discovered her dwarf nature.
Lily has been a constant source of happiness for us, but now her deformitites have become life threatening. Her colon isn't functioning properly so she can no longer poop without enema after enema. She also has deformed hips that are making it difficult for her to posture to go to the bathroom. There may be a neurological element to her problems, as well. She must have an MRI (cost will be $2,000 - $2,500), but the only place she can go for this is A & M University where they have a machine sensitive enough for Little Lily. Then, after the MRI, she will need to have much of her colon removed (another $2,000- $2,500). She may need another surgery if there is a nuerological element. Down the road she may need hip surgery. However, if she can get the MRI and colan surgery we will be a long way towards ensuring that Lily lives many more years. Please help us to save our precious Little Lily.
