Caring for Sailors
When my daughter enlisted in the navy in 2010 i often sent her care packages to show her our love and how much we appreciated her dedication in the service. On a recent visit home, my daughter told me that MOST sailors don't get packages, cards, phone calls or acknowledgement from their families. For various reasons i suppose, some cant afford it, some don't care and some don't have families at all.
THIS MADE ME SAD
So, i decided to host a PACKING PARTY and make as many care packages i can to send to my daughter and her division. Her female shipmates are ages 18-22 and about 60 in her division. My goal was to send a package to every girl, all I needed were donations of items, and cash to cover shipping. Each box to ship (through the US Postal Service) will cost $16. I collected items to fill 14 boxes, and a local Girlscout troop is collecting and boxing the remaining 46 boxes, all I have to do is figure out how to pay for the shipping.
