Today, Sunday February 24th, my mom received a letter from the Council: if we don't pay £1,000 by 12:30 Tuesday we are going to be evicted and live on the street.
We've had this ongoing argument with the local council for ages, all because my mum should be paying extra rent for me because I am "non dependant". This despite the fact I'm on benefits because I cannot work right now, because I am still dealing with ongoing anxiety and depression, which I am on medication for and getting help with. We had a standing order set up for every month to pay them from the bank, we don't know why that was stopped and then they said we had to pay weekly via the post office with some paying in book. We can't do that, we don't have the money weekly. My mum tried arguing the point with the courts, they ignored everything she had to say.
I'm trying to raise the money for my family, this is our last chance to keep our house. We are alone, my dad won't help and we have no friends that can give us that much. We have been evicted once when I was 16, I don't want to go through this nightmare ever again. My mum has just less than £30 to her name, my bank account is already £309 overdrawn and my brother has 27p in his bank account.
Thus far my dog Balto has been the biggest anchor I have, now it looks like the last option I will have is to lose her - and my mum's dog and our two cats - or risk them suffering too. I really don't know how I will cope if I have to lose our animals. I'm at a loss. About all I can do right now is cry.
My mom is on state pension, and my brother and I can't find a job. Most weeks we barely manage to buy food.
This is a one-time payment, because all they want is the money owed, after that I will have the time to sort out a monthly payment method and get my name on the tenancy so this will not happen again. If I raise the money by Tuesday, we can save our house.
I don't know what else to do.
