As we ran to Home Depot to pick up items for the store we passed a homeless family . 3 young babies, all they wanted was to feed their family! So I circled back and invited them to Moe's! As I watch them fall in love with every bite I decided to walk over and talk with them for a few minutes.. then I took the father outside to offer him a job with us! Instantly busting into tears he accepts! Honestly you never know who or how many people a simple good deed can effect!
Later on the employees and I were talking and realized this family will not receive their first paycheck for another two weeks! After speaking with the man he explained to me that their goal each day is
"to make $60 to feed our family and hopefully have enough left over to find a hotel each night, most of the time we do not make enough so we must sleep in the car."
(2 adults, 3 children)
Obviously if they are working they will not be out on the streets looking for money . Therefore they will not have anyway to pay for a place to sleep over the next two weeks.
We hope that by creating this we will be able to help them avoid that issue! Maybe we will be lucky and raise enough for them to be able to get new clothes, shoes, etc! I'm willing to help as much as I can!
They start tomorrow (5/16) in the afternoon. I will get more information about them and their children when they come in!
I wish we had the power to help all that are in need but this is a start! You never know.. It might grow into something much larger!
