Hi everyone....here is our situation in a nutshell. My children's father and I entered into a verbal agreement in 2009 saying that they would go and live with him in North Carolina for a school year and them come home to Florida. Summer came and he said that he wanted to keep them for the summer and do a few things. Instead of getting the children back at the end of summer I got served with custody hearing paperwork. He was establishing residency with them in North Carolina. Unable to afford an attorney, I represented myself and my best wasn't good enough, I lost custody of Cosmo and Luna. I will never forget the looks on their faces when I told them that the judge decided that they would be staying in North Carolina with their father. It still haunts me to this day. I have them for summers and split holidays, and I have lived for those times.
Fast forward to the middle of December 2012...Department of Social Services removed Cosmo and Luna from their father and placed them in my care. I was to "bring them home. enroll them in school and have a happy life" I was over the moon, my payers and dreams were coming true....my babies are coming home. We came home to Florida, and settled in. On December 30th I allowed the paternal Grandfather to take Cosmo and Luna to "Wal-Mart" an hour later I was being informed that they were now in their father's car and heading north back to North Carolina. Since the only legal paper work signed by a judge I had stated that he was supposed to have them at that time there was nothing that I could do but ask the universe to please take care of my babies.
I did file custody papers before I left North Carolina and have two upcoming hearings. My brother was able to give an attorney 500.00 to get started on my case and I have to give him much more to keep him. I need him, I need help in this fight, especially since I failed so miserably on my own before. I truly believe a part of me will die this time if it happens again. So here I am, humbly asking for help. Anyone that knows me knows this is something I have a very hard time doing. All money raised will go straight to the attorney and cover travel expenses to and from North Carolina.
