Help me with My Transgender HRT
So To explain a few things I'll break it down.
HRT
HRT is the process of using prescription hormones and testosterone blockers to feminize my body. It is a long slow process. It will take about 6 months before there are any noticeable physical results. 2 years before (if I'm lucky) most changes will be done. I will than have to maintain HRT for the rest of my life. I can go further into the changes and direct you to sites with more information if you want but this is right now just a brief overview.
Expenses
The breakdown for the total. The initial doctor visit I have pegged down for around $400. But before I see the doctor there are a few hoops I have to jump threw first.
One I have to see a therapist to make sure that:1)I know what I'm doing/getting into. 2)That I am doing the right thing for my mental health. 3)That I understand the mental aspects of HRT. After the therapist says I'm good to go he/she can provide me with documentation to give to an Endocrinologist for treatment. This may take a few sessions. From what Ive seen sessions with a therapist can run from 70-150 a session. I hope that this will not take longer than two sessions but any more than the two will come out of my pocket. I have budgeted $300 here for this.
Than I will need Blood work done before I visit the Doctor. From what I've seen of the cost for the hormone panel that endocrinologists need it will run about $100. This is to get base line figures of my hormone levels as well as other levels. Every three months or so I will get more blood taken to compare to the original, this will allow the doctor to adjust my prescriptions as needed. This is also used to monitor for the dangers of the medications I will be taking and the inherit risks of having female hormones in my system. These include(and not limited to) increased chance of blood clotting, possibility of developing diabetes, liver damage, and overdose of potassium. Yeah I know these risks I understand them and will continue despite this.

Time Line
I will begin with seeing a therapist once I have reached the $300 mark. Once that benchmark is past I will post an update about how long till each other step is compleated.
Extra
Any amount over my initial goal will be split up, Two out of every three dollars will be saved for some of the surguries I will need later. One out of every three dollars over will go towards helping someone else on this site with a medical needs.
