The whole Pessah family would like to thank everyone for all there prayers and support. Ben has over come a huge obstacle and is now on the road to a successful recovery. The response to the fund raiser went way further then I though possible. Shows prayers really do get answered.
As we fastly approach a new year, goes to show never take anything for granted. Hope everyone has a safe & prosperous 2013
Ben is going to the next step of recovery, he will be moving to Santa Clara within the next day. This is a Rehab facility which specializes in brain injuries and then he will come home! Maybe by the end of December! :)
Good afternoon I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I had the chance to go spend some time with Ben yesterday. He was smiling more then ever. His amazing recovery story was on the news yesterday. Ben took his 1st steps since the accident. We are still praying for Ben and his recovery
BEN IS NOW AWAKE!!!! Thank you everyone for your prayers they where answered. He is able to move around. His voice is very faint as he has not used it in several weeks. I had the chance to spend an hour or so with Ben, his father, and other cousin. He would laugh at jokes we were cracking. The doctors are slowing taking him off of all the meds now. We watched him pull him self up and try to put a pillow behind himself. HE WAS EVEN ABLE TO PUT HIS TEAM BEN BAND ON HIM SELF.... Team Ben bands are still for sale pls contact Ian @ 650-888-6226 all proceeds go to help Bens medical expenses.
Good morning everyone. I had the chance to visit Ben yesterday. AND let me tell you I was sooooooooooo happy to see his eyes open... He is on several different meds right now they are trying to slowly take him off of. But his father would ask him questions and he would be able to respond by blinking his eyes. I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers and support for the family. Hope everyone has a great day!!! #TEAMBEN
Good morning everyone.... Im happy today to report Today has been the best news so far on Ben. He has stayed on his back for 6 hours straight which is a huge improvement from last week which was only 1/2 hour. Has gone down again to 12 and his oxygen is 50% on both sides. If Ben continues to improve they could take him out of the "special" bed he's in and put in a traditional bed in 3 days so then we could actually see his face. Then the next steps would be to slowly get him off the drugs....one day at a time! HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY. Dont forget to take a min and say a prayer for Big Ben :)
Good morning everyone... I'm glad to announce that we have passed our goal. I would like to personally thank everyone that help me reach this goal. Ben had a stable night last night. Low grade temp. He is only needing 50% oxygen which is a huge improvement from the 100%...Thank you for all your support and prayers...please keep them going for Benji
Sorry for no update yesterday. There was a great turn out for court. The DA prepaired up for the judge possibly lowering the females bail. I think because of the support there for Ben the judge decided to not increase or lower it. ************* An update on Big Ben- Ben had a good night on his stomach, but the goal is for his numbers to be on the same on the stomach as his back. AS of now that his not happening. The hospital is trying their best ********** Remember guys prayers are the best thing we can ask for right now.. Don't forget to smile and hope everyone has a great day!

Big Ben update: He has been under a paralytic medication for about 6 days now with not a lot of forward progress. The brain injury appears to be ok, as they have taken all the tubes out of his head. The issues we are having is with his lungs. The Dr's believe he has Acute respiratory distress syndrome. His lungs are not getting the oxygen to his blood in a high enough dosage. It is imperative that his blood level has high oxygen to help repair the brain so they are pumping a lot of it in him. It is as such a high rate that he can't be awake because it is so uncomfortable. If it worsens they will have to cut a hole in the bottom of his neck to put the tubes so his esophagus doesn't get irritated. We are not worried about this, we are much more worried about the inflammation of his lungs to go down. We are basically fighting all the complications the body goes through with an injury such as this one. Please don't stop praying. We really really need it
I just spoke with Kim-
I wish I could be reporting good news.
Ben was having troubles today with fluid in his system. They are trying and new procedure and using some new equipment on him... The family really asks for every ones prayers right now... These next few hours are really important for him
Just got off the phone with Bens mom.
On a good note- Ben is doing much better today.. The procedure help relieve some of the fluids in his system, which is a big relief.
On a more serious note- Both suspects involved today plead innocent. We are asking that we can show as much support as we can for these court cases
I will be finding out the dates. Anyone that would like to go can call or txt me for info on the
Alex / 424-212-2227
i would like to so do sort of real fundraiser like a car wash etc, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions pls email them to me
Lets keep the donations and especially the prayers going for Ben.
Update this evening for Ben
-Ben has gotten a little worse, his lungs are filled with water so they gave him more diuretics to pee out of fluids. They switched his breathing to include some medicine to relax the lungs and hopefully drain the fluids. His arms are very puffy, we can't see his knuckles, so the doctors are trying to drain the fluids and they are being more aggressive.
We reached our goal did not expect this fast of response. I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my hart on behalf of the whole Pessah family. Court is being held today for the person who did this senseless crime. I'm praying the judge sees how this person has affected so many lives. Remember keep praying guys :)
Gabriel wrote this on FB yesterday but just in case you did not see it:
Keep the prayers coming. Benjamin Pessah was able to open his eyes all the way for a couple of minutes. He was able to raise his hands (actually tried to start unplugging his tubes, we had to tell him no). He can squeeze his hands to indicate a yes or a no (tube is in his throat so we don't know if he can talk just yet(. Carissa Harper's brother said "squeeze harder, you can do better than that Ben" and a small grin came on Ben's face and he squeezed harder. Every day we have experienced a miracle. Your prayers are incredible, they are so strong. Please please keep the coming
I just spoke with Kim and she wanted to thank everyone for there prayers and donations. All this was less then 24 hour. let's keep it going. Ben is doing better. Ben was kept company today by some close friends and family. Please continue to keep him in your prayers
I would like to thank everyone for there generous donation lets keep this going. Anything helps right now
I am writing this on the behalf of the many cousins Benjamen has. This past weekend, he was the victim of a senseless crime, suffering a gun shot wound to the head. There has been a tremendous outpour of prayers and support to Ben and his family which cannot be thanked enough. As his extended family, we would like to allow him and his family to focus on the recovery and have decided to come together to raise money to help ease the medical expenses.
