Help Rescue Street Kids in Kenya

Welcome to our GoFundMe site about reaching and rescuing street children of Kenya. We are a 501c3 organization that reaches out to children who live on the streets, as well as other at-risk children, of Kenya.
We currently hold a weekly feeding program in Nairobi, Kenya which feeds usually 20-30 street kids. Along with providing porridge and a meal for them we also counsel them and provide medical care, hair cuts and shoe repair. We also provide new shoes and clothes when possible.
Since beginning our program in the middle of 2013 we have seen great changes in the boys who attend. Someone even recently started paying for a large room they can sleep in instead of sleeping on the streets. They are now able to bathe and have cleaned up alot. We find that when people are feeding and helping the boys they tend to use less drugs, such as cheap glue and airplane fuel, to numb their pain. Thus causing local drug dealers to become angry with us and our boys to grow healthier.
We also currently have a shelter that houses 6 boys. We are currently in need of funds for schooling for these 6 boys as well as one other boy who needs to go to high school and one in technical school. I have two boys who have been restored to their moms with counselling available and provided to the parents. We've also just enrolled another former street boy into a techinical school to be trained as an electrician and need ongoig funding for him. We also have a former street girl in boarding school who already has a sponsor. We also admit them into drug rehabilitation programs as we're able to.
We also train the kids being rehabilitated to do outreach to others using puppetry, dance and drama.
Reching our projected goal of $5,000 in donations will help us to place the kids into school and keep them there. As well as provide the necessary food and medical treatment to the kids who attend the feeding program as well as those in the shelter.
