Friends,
I met Sammy when I was just 14 years old during a family camping trip. We shared an honest to goodness, ‘puppy love' that lasted throughout our teens and after nearly 40 years with the help of Facebook we have reconnected as the best of friends.
If you know Sammy Dio then you know that aside from being a multi-talented musician, he is a genuinly great guy with an awesome personality & sense of humor. Sammy is shirt-off-his-back generous, has great compassion and an upbeat attitude -- that almost bugs you cause nobody's that happy! -- but that you ultimately can't help but adore and envy.
What you also may (or may not) know is that in six-months time, Sammy will be on his way to Pittsburgh to undergo a lung transplant. This journey will entail travel and eventually moving to Pittsburgh where he'll reside for the several-month duration of procedures , surgery, and a lengthy recovery. Related costs will likely be astronomical. And he needs our help...
The goal is set high, but knowing how much Sammy is loved, I know we'll make it! Help us succeed by making a donation and sharing this with your family & friends. This site will be up and running for as long as he needs it.
