Jay-Natalie La Santa was the BOSS!!! She had mommy and daddy wrapped around her little finger and knew it. She was a good judge of character, and would give a serious look that said, "I don't fully trust you because I don't know you. Once I approve, you'll be my friend forever!" She loved music and enjoyed hearing it during bath time and car rides. She loved to be sung to, enjoyed watching bright colors, hearing mommy and daddy's voice, being kissed and hugged and most of all being rocked to sleep. She despised tummy time, but found comfort in her rattle. Face timing and selfies made her truly smile. She was a little person with a big personality! We call her the Warrior Princess because she fought Covid-19 like nobody's business!!!! Her fight inspired all of the nurses, doctors and staff members that knew her. Her purpose was served and she was called home on 4/20/2020. We thought we were having a baby, but had an angel instead.
Due to the enormous outpouring of donations, we have surpassed our goal of $30,000 and therefore we are closing this campaign. We appreciate everyone who has donated. This campaign has made national news and has brought awareness to this disease which is a monster that doesn't discriminate! In effort to remain completely transparent with all of you we'd like to share amazing news! We've been notified that Jay-Natalie's medical expenses have been covered by her medical insurance company! What a blessing this is! The funds will be used towards her funeral arrangements, burial and additional time needed away from work so Jerel and Lindsey can heal. We have decided to donate the rest of the proceeds to The Children's Hospital at Montefoire and Albert Einstein's NICU. These hospitals in particular treated our Warrior Princess with compassion, and expert care. We would appreciate any future donations be made to these hospitals in her name. Thank you all so very much! It's reassuring to see that although we are going through a difficult time there's still goodness and kindness in this world.
