Laura Fleury, the loving wife and mother of five children and grandmother to four children has been taken away from her family.
What follows is from Mr. Fleury.
'When people talk about 'post traumatic stress' it's usually associated with veterans. But in this case, it's about children. We have suffered an absolutely traumatic event. Panic attacks, depression, crying, confusion, anger, distrust of authority, antisocial behavior, insomnia, restlessness..... the list goes on. This is everyday life for us now. We have all the love and support we could ask for, but it doesn't solve the problem. We are desperate, and our elected officials have no answers. Can we sue the government for our pain? Loss of income and economic hardship? Counseling and therapy? Our family has been torn apart!! Coupled with the fact that I have been off of work 8 of these last 11 months, it's obvious how terrible things are. How do I answer my girls when they ask 'when is mommy coming back??' As it stands with this government, it seems more and more like that answer is never.....
Please understand that this issue is not just about politics, it's about human rights! ICE didn't deport an immigrant, they took my wife, my girls' mother! ICE was cold and calculating, certainly aware of the fact that their actions would destroy our family and hurt our school and church community. YOUR tax dollars were wasted on hurting American citizens! Not a single positive result has come from this tragedy. There is enough hate in this world already, why do we need to add more?? For our children, for our community, for our country, please help us to change this. I thank God for all those who have supported thus far and certainly for those who will. Without His help I could not have done this......
