Hello, my name is Dan.
I am a boccia player from Rochdale, England. I have been playing for 10 years and have finally started to excell in the sport. I have cerebal palsy and use a powerchair.
In 2013/14, I entered into a series of regional and national competitions which led me to the Great Britain Champtionships in May 2014. Here I won the title of Bronze BC1 Boccia Champion which is a huge achievement and I loved every minute of it!
In September, I was accepted onto Boccia England's Talent Pathway programme. A two year development programme that leads to team selections for the England Lions team and possibly GB team for Rio Paralympic Games 2016.
In order to fully commit myself to the training development programme and future competitions, I need to raise funds to buy my own set of boccia balls (approx £300), and a mobile hoist (approx £700 second hand). I need the mobile hoist so that I can stay over at weekend competitions or training events.
My appetite for competition and success has grown so much, I just need some help to ahcieve my goal of being selected on the England Lions Team!
