Hello! I am Terri Dawn. I own a business called TDA Entertainment Inc. I started TDA Entertainment in 2000. In the beginning, I managed the careers of two bands and three actresses. Also, I hosted Women of Film Conferences where women who work in the industry or seriously considering starting careers in the movie business could network.
Prior to organizing the Women of Film Conferences, I wrote a book of short coming-of-age stories called GROWING PAINS "“ 10 short stories about growing up (http://www.tdaentertainment.com/growingpainsbook.htm). I adapted three of the short stories into scripts, produced them with my own money, directed cast and crew, and then they aired on television. The conferences provided a way for me to learn if anyone else in my community was interested in making movies. The response was positive, and women even traveled from outside of the region to attend and participate as presenters.
At the first Women of Film Conference someone suggested I submit my crime-drama feature film screenplay, THE TWO SISTERS, to a film festival. I followed through and received a Best Screenplay nomination! That was the encouragement I needed to save my money and make the movie.
After producing and directing THE TWO SISTERS, I submitted the movie to some film festivals. It was screened at festivals in Long Beach, California (where I received another Best Script nomination!) and in Beaufort, Victoria, Australia. THE TWO SISTERS is available to stream online at IndieFlix (http://www.indieflix.com/Films/TheTwoSisters).
My second screenplay has also received a Best Script nomination. It is a suspense film titled, AFRAID FOR YOUR LIFE. Several actors, a cinematographer, and a composer have all shown interest in working on this movie. This is where you come in: Right now the project is partially funded, but still needs more money in order for production to begin.
In the meantime, I have written the screenplay for a mystery film titled, MELANIE MOON: BOWER HILL. And right now I am working on another mystery script. Your donation can make it possible for each of these films to be produced. Yes, it will require more than the $10,000 listed above, but we at TDA Entertainment believe every dollar counts and appreciate you as contributors.
I am a teacher (grades K through 12), but also enjoy utilizing my creative writing and directing gifts. It is my dream to continue sharing my creativity with the world. Thank you for your support.
