SAVE LINCOLN!

Donation protected
Update 12/31/2016: Lincoln has been returned from his second failed adoption. He did great in all regards except reactivity to getting out of the middle or front seat of the car. This fund is reactivated to raise money for his day to day care; he will be living with me as long as necessary. If you would like to directly supply a month's worth of food, or anything else, send us a message to find out how to do so, or donate here to contribute.

Have you ever had that one special dog who changed your life forever? Of all the dogs I have loved, cared for, trained, and rehomed Lincoln has by far had the most profound impact on me as far as making me more aware of myself, and helping me heal with him. I am asking each of you who can relate to the profound love I have for this dog to help by sharing, and giving if you are able- any amount helps.

This is an URGENT situation. Lincoln survived the Manhattan ACC list THREE TIMES and was pulled from his 3rd time on the list, in just 8 days (3 of which he was on stray hold), on August 24, 2014. Lincoln has been in a boarding kennel almost every day since then and despite his circumstances waiting in a very anxious and stressful environment has been improving.
(See www.GoFundMe.com/Love-for Lincoln for his full story)

After 9 months Lincoln finally had a family lined up to adopt him, insecurity issues and all, but on the evening of Friday May 29th Lincoln had a panic bite incident when I was not present. He found himself in an insecure situation with person he had spent little time with, and as a result of feeling panicked and trapped he bit, immediately released and retreated. However due to this incident he ended up on a mandatory 14 day quarantine, until June 13th. This incident made me realize that although others may try they cannot always read and react to him the way he needs with his current insecurities. Before Lincoln could be responsibly placed in a home he needed to build appropriate confidence, and learn how to act in a variety of situations that may make him uncomfortable or nervous. Although he has come extremely far in terms of his obedience, good with other dogs now, and confidence building with me he still needs professional rehabilitation in order to be placed. I had been following Dream Come True k9 for months, and although they are pricey for a rescue dog, they are exactly what this dog I have so much love and faith in needs.

Lincoln is currently attending this program in order to save his life. Everyone who has met him loves him because despite his remaining insecurities he is a goofy and loving dog. He entered the program on June 15, 2015 and will be there for 5 weeks. We were able to raise a good deal of the money through a GoFundMe account (wwww.GoFundMe.com/Save-Lincoln ) but over the past few days donations dropped to 1 a day for 3 days, and none the past two days, so I set up a YouCaring as well, www.YouCaring.com/Save-Lincoln . Please email [email redacted] for information about contributing via PayPal, check, directly to DCTK9, or with any questions.

Here is the information about the program:

Boot Camp Conditioning Programs
Our extremely successful and popular Boot Camp Conditioning programs remove dogs from their current environment and into a new one at DCTK9. This allows the training and conditioning to be applied throughout all aspects of the dog’s life on a 24/7 basis. The dog goes through a variety of exercises that are sure to work the dog through the most realistic real world situations imaginable, especially in New York City.

What you can expect:
Learning how to properly walk on a leash
Walking with a pack of other dogs
Living and co-existing with other dogs
Being around humans, children and all other distractions and stimulations imaginable
Whether indoors or outdoors, the constant state of mind conditioning for real world scenarios never stops. This extended stay at DCTK9 allows us to really create healthy patterns and habits that (when constantly enforced and implemented) will eventually begin to override the old inappropriate and dangerous habits that once were.
We currently offer a three, five and eight week program. All programs come with a two day follow-up where Blake will show the owner the dog's progress and begin to coach and work with the owner. Additional weeks may be added for each program at a rate of $800 per week.

Three week program:
•With 2 day follow up: $3,900.00 ($800 for each additional week if requested or necessary)

This is the program Lincoln is doing -> Five week program:
•With 2 day followup: $4,500.00 ($800 for each additional week if requested or necessary) (*tax not included in this cost)
