Old City Drum Corps Drums are ALL on loan from up state New York..and our Return DEADLINE is approaching..Please show your Support & help Fund our Rope-Tension Drum Fundraising Campaign , We DO have Events coming up to support our Cause...and Two upcoming grant awards to date....DONATE TODAY as These Drums will be Used in our 2020 Junior Fife & Drum Corps.  While the Ancient city's compelling history has  been told through nearly every creative outlet imaginable, there is one artistic channel that is being reintroduced to the community after more than four decades.    Through years of unrivaled passion,rigorous practice,and fine tuning, Michael Scott Thomas is finally bringing Old City Drum Corps to life in Saint Augustine.  Formerly trained by world renowned Master Drum Sergeant George Carroll in Bethesda, Maryland, Thomas moved to Saint Augustine in 2007.  After his arrival in the Ancient City, Thomas serendipitously found that his decorated mentor had started Saint Augustine's original Fife & Drum Corps in 1975.  in that spirit Thomas say's, "We are dedicating our mission to re-establish what Mr. Carroll started, and what Saint Augustine has been missing for over 42 years."  OCDC's mission is, "To feed the human spirit by sharing Saint Augustine's enduring history & culture, not only trough performance & entertainment, but by educating and informing the importance of 18th century martial music."  Utilizing there four core values,  EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY< TRADITION, and RESPECT.  OCDC provides free public performances alongside the reenactment community and through educational programs facilitated by the National Parks Dept. as well as public and private schools in the area.  With plans to keep Old City Drum Corps  alive and well for generations to come, Thomas plans to introduce a junior Fife & Drum Corps for children 10 and up by the year 2020.  As a 501-c3 Not For Profit Public Charitable Organization, Old City Drum Corps depends solely on Donations & Grant Monies to sustain their mission On behalf of the Board of director of Old City Drum Corps, we all thank you in advance & look forward to working with the many organizations here in Saint Augustine.  "VIVA SAINT AUGUSTINE" !.

www.facebook.comOldCityDrumCorps www.facebook.comOldCityDrumCorps   Old City Drum Corps - LLC  Was founded in 2018.  The professional musicians of Old City Drum Corps recall the days of 16th thru 18th century periods as they parade in uniforms patterned after those worn by the musicians of that time.  The Corps uses century period, Hand-Made Rope-Tension Drums which bring to life the exciting sounds of 16th thru 18th century drumming.  Old City Drum Corps consists of  local Saint Augustine professional musicians trained in military marching, choreography and time period music.  The size of their ensembles  can be as small as a two man drumming solo exhibition....and as large as a Full 12 piece  Fife & Drum Corp with color guard & drum major.  The musicians of Old City Drum Corps have been rehearsing diligently so as to debut the Corps this upcoming Fall 2018 parade/festival season,  right here in Old Town Saint Augustine.  We are partly sponsored by the Saint Johns Cultural Council & The Saint Augustine Beach Civic Association Pres. Bill Jones is meeting with our Drum Sgt. Michael S. Thomas to partly fund Uniforms for performances.  Each Hand-Made Rope-Tension Field Drum is at a cost of $1200.00 each. we currently have 2 and are in  need for 4 more.  Our multiple uniforms for both 16th & 18th century are $320.00 for each Man in the Corps.  We are ALL working towards a common goal of giving our Saint Augustine a professional Drum Corps that will represent with pride...Our wonderful & Nationally know "Old City"  Saint Augustine.  Please help reach our goal before our upcoming fall season of 2018..... so our hard working professional musicians can debut with pride...in our New Uniforms & Hand-Made Rope-Tension Drums.  Thank you for supporting our local community of artisans & musicians.   "The Team" Old City Drum Corps - LLC  OCOC Now has five (5) New Qualified Musicians on Staff &  ready to perform...But, we are now in the Need of Uniforms for these talented musicians...Your Support & Funding is Needed to continue our mission for this valued Saint Augustine Tradition.   To Continue our  Educational Performances & Programs FREE to the Public..!  "The Corps" Thanks You !
