Levi's Wheelchair Lift Van

Donation protected
When Levi was just three weeks old, he was diagnosed with Group B Strep Meningitis.  By the time we reached the children's hospital, he was unresponsive.  He was septic (the infection was throughout his blood stream) and continuously seizing, despite three previous perfect doctor visits.  He spent a month in the hospital, nearly three weeks of which was spent in a drug induced coma.  Due to the illness, Levi has cerebral palsy; hydrocephalus (water on the brain) with a VP shunt implanted into his skull to drain the water from his brain into his stomach; epilepsy, the seizures are controlled with a special high fat diet; global developmental delay; cortical visual impairment, which has improved with time and therapy;  GERD, a severe form a reflux; a feeding tube, which allows formula to feed directly into his stomach; and a colostomy, which allows stool to drain into a bag from a stoma in his side.

Levi does not yet crawl, walk, or speak.  Don't feel sorry for him, though, he is a happy boy as long as he is feeling well.  Now that he's four years old, it's getting harder to carry him, and much more difficult to put him in and take him out of the car seat.  When we go out for the day and he has to get in and out of the car several times, his body ends up being sore that  night.  We need a van with a wheelchair lift so he can sit in his comfy chair while safely riding in the vehicle.

The hospital is about a 45 minute drive away, so it's important to have a van that is safe and reliable.  When my car doesn't start, Patrick has to take off work to get us to Levi's appointments, or we have to reschedule.

Asking for donations is not easy for us, but we know we have so many friends who have wanted to help Levi over the years, and this is a very important and expensive need.  Any donation, even as low as $1, adds up and is so greatly appreciated.

Please send prayers for Levi.  You can view his entire story on our blog, prayforlevi.com.  Thank you, and God Bless!
