I am an artist with an unusual gift who has dedicated his life to playing, expressing and inspiring beauty through music. At the age of 10, I realized my destiny was to express and share music through a unique traditional instrument called kalimba and for the past 18 years through tears and triumphs, I have faithfully done my best to share and inspire others through this sacred gift in the spirit of love and sincerity.

SHORT DESCRIPTION:

-Album will be a fusion of folk, world and dance music that moves your feet and stirs your soul featuring myself and other gifted musicians from around the world.

As I embark on creating this international music and video project, I know all things are possible with the help of friends and fans alike around the world. So join me in creating a project that inspires, brings hope and uplifts humanity in a way that we all can be proud of.
The funds raised from this GoFundMe campaign will go toward the cost of equipment, music/video production and allow me to compensate musicians, photographers and graphic artists around the world who provide their talent on this very exciting project. The first piece of equipment I must buy is a HandSonic Percussion Instrument. For the past 7 years this instrument has been a very important part of my live music presentation and recordings, unfortunately a few days ago it malfunctioned and erased 8 months of programming and the repair costs are nearly equal to buying another one.
However with your generous support, I can not only replace this instrument but together we can present to the world new and incredibly cool uses of music technology that I've developed over the years which will inspire and leave a positive and lasting legacy in the global creative community!
This album titled TRANSFORMATION represents the power of hope and perseverance because my friends, I breathe and live the music I play.
In today's time seeing all the chaos in the world and personally experiencing hardships including a car crash that injured the nerves in my arm (which I'm still recovering from) and the loss of my mother, my desire has ALWAYS been to create music that takes me and the listener to a place within that's filled with excitement, healing and unity.
It is also deeply important for me to honor my mom's sacrifices with raising me, believing in me and buying my first kalimba long ago.
As a child I made a promise to myself and the Creator that I would always use the gift of music to uplift, inspire and be a tool for healing and positivity to which I still strive to do today.
So, as many of you know doing a music and video project usually costs alot more than our $5000 goal. Of course I'm hoping to raise more than that amount but I've made the personal commitment that I will sacrifice and do my very best with whatever your generosity allows.
I want to proudly mention that for the past 18 months I've quietly been working with the great people at Mid-East Music Mfg one of the largest world musical instrument manufacturers with designing and manufacturing a custom kalimba named in my honor called the Kevin Spears Pro Kalimba....
We are making this autographed kalimba available to the public for the first time here on GoFundMe as a part of the $200 Special Patron campaign level!
I personally designed this kalimba with some very very cool features that raise the standard for this mesmerizing traditional African instrument.
