SMHS Colorguard

Hello everyone, 
The members of the 2014-2015 SMHS Colorguard would like to ask you for a moment of your time.  

For us, Colorguard is a very imporant part of our lives.  It offers each of us an oppourtunity to be involved in an extracurricular activity that involves passion, dedication, and hard work. Colorguard is an outlet for us to perform and express ourselves in a way that day to day life does not offer.  Participation in this activity provides leadership skills, builds self-esteem, and provides a common goal to work towards among many other positive outcomes.  

Here is a rough estimate of how much it costs one member to participate in Colorguard:

Uniform :                            140

While these are rough estimates, it is easy to see how the totals add up quickly.  Generally, we stick with classic fundraisers which require a lot of work and little payoff.  Most fundraising companies take a 40-50 % cut of all money raised in order to pay for fees associated with the actual fundraiser.  It is also annoying for people to continually be asked to purchase something that they do not want and or need, but feel obligated to purchase. That is where this GOFUNDME page comes in.  By donating money to us on here, you no longer have to worry about buying 40 candles in various scents or 19 pounds of cookie dough that you will never use.  Also, this is a great way for all of you friends and family members that live far away to have an outlet to support our members. 

By reaching our goal, we will be able to provide all the materials neccessary for the SMHS Colorguard's 2014-2015 season to be successful.  Any money rasied over our goal will help us in providing other features for each member; such as warmups, pink shirts for the breast cancer awareness game, various small supplies needed to make a season work, etc.
