Send the DHS Show Choirs to Nationals!
The DHS show choirs traveled to FAME Hollywood to compete in FAME's National Show Choir Championship Series this February. The top three groups from all of the qualifying regional events (Hollywood, Orlando, New York, Chicago, and Branson) receive a bid to compete at Nationals in Chicago this April.
Contemporaires received 1st-runner up, earning their bid to nationals. Delegation won Best Tech Crew, Best Female Stage Presence of the day (Cheyann Cota), Best Male Stage Presence of the day (Christian Cunningham), and 1st runner up, earning their bid to nationals. Both Cheyann and Christian earned a $10,000 college scholarship for their performances.
Contemps and Delegation will compete against the best show choirs in the nation at the Arie Crown Theatre on April 26 & April 27. The dedicated students and parents worked very hard all year to raise funds for their trip to Los Angeles, and now have a very short time to raise the necessary funds to represent Danville among the top show choirs in the nation this April.
Along with sponsored donations, students will be working hard to fundraise in the 6 weeks we have to raise our goal!
The $20,000 will cover the bare minimum to get our 115 kids to nationals:
-2 nights stay in Chicago
-Student meals
-Transportation
**Each $150 raised goes towards the sponsorship of one student**
