<div>I'm an aspiring writer, driver, and man working towards a better life for myself and hopefully a family one day. Just like many of you, I've been working towards goals and trying my best to stay afloat in this crazy world we live in, and part of that has been to get myself healthy. About three months ago, I got in touch with my doctor about a weight problem I've struggled with for years, and despite many attempts at remedying this, I never seemed to be able to lose the weight.

<div>So I spoke to my doctor, and we did a check-up on my body's metabolism through a physical. At first, it was determined to be a possible diagnosis of a disease called Grave's Disease, due to an imbalance of my thyroid hormones. Little did I know that it turned out to be much more serious.

<div>After doing a biopsy to check if it truly was Grave's, the test came back that the nodules in my thyroid were malignant, and that I in fact had cancer. It was strange; I had already been preparing my life to become healthier due to the potential of Grave's, but to find out that it was in fact cancer that was causing so many health problems was almost impossible to believe at first. It was like a slap to my face, telling me that my path ended here.

<div>The saving grace, if you can call it that, is that the treatment is simple. <strong>I need to have my thyroid removed, and with that, the cancer should hopefully go with it.</strong> The not-so-simple part is that the procedure is expensive. This is why I'm here. In a way, this is me begging for my life, and hoping on the kindness of strangers that you have some spare change that you might be willing to go towards saving me. I'm not trying to sugarcoat this; I feel like begging is giving up in a way, but I'm confident in saying that I'm also not ready to die yet.
