<div><strong>When Gender Dies: The Birth of the First Person</strong> is a UV-reactive, immersive art installation and fairytale about the first ungendered person.

<div>This project combines images of a human life cycle with fluorescent paint and mixed media to tell a story about the death of the god Gender, and the birth of the first person to defy Gender's rules. Viewers are invited to respond to the question: What will you do when Gender dies?

<div>A small version of the project will debut at the <a href="https://www.thevisionsanctuary.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Vision Sanctuary</strong></a><strong> </strong>in<strong> July 2026</strong>.

<div>An expanded version will exhibit at the <a href="https://www.santacruzmah.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History</strong></a> <strong> </strong>in<strong> June 2027</strong>.

<div>This project expands upon the themes I created for my first installation, "<a href="https://www.santacruzmah.org/exhibitions/is-gender-working-for-you-popup" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Is Gender Working for You</a>?" which also appeared at the MAH and various galleries in Santa Cruz.
