<div>Am Anfang steht oft die Unsicherheit: „Wie soll das gehen? Ich sehe ja nichts.“
</div>
<div>Die Kinder tasten vorsichtig über den Ski, ihre Finger gleiten über Kanten und Bindungen. Sie greifen nach dem Helm, lauschen der Stimme ihres Guides, der geduldig jeden Schritt erklärt. Und dann entsteht etwas, das größer ist als jede sportliche Leistung: Vertrauen – in die Menschen, die sie begleiten, und in den eigenen Körper, der plötzlich neue Wege wagt.

<div>Ein Mädchen, das weder sehen noch hören kann, tastet sich zwei Tage lang an das Material heran. Zentimeter für Zentimeter lernt sie die Bewegungen. Bis sie – gehalten von einem speziellen Seil – zum ersten Mal wirklich auf den Ski steht. Über verschiedene Zugimpulse bekommt sie die Kommandos. Und dann passiert es: Sie fährt los. Noch wackelig, aber selbstständig. Ein Moment, in dem die Zeit stillzustehen scheint. Ein Moment, den man fühlt – selbst wenn man ihr Lächeln nicht sehen kann.

<div>Solche Augenblicke sind das Herz unserer Arbeit bei <strong>BLINDSPORTS AUSTRIA</strong>. Sie zeigen: In jedem dieser Kinder steckt so viel Kraft, Mut und Lebensfreude – sie müssen nur eine Chance bekommen, sie zu entdecken.

<div><strong>Was die Kinder in dieser Woche erleben</strong>

<div>In der Skiwoche vom 2. bis 6. Jänner 2027 in Hintermoos/Salzburg
</div>

<div>• lernen 16 blinde und sehbehinderte Kinder Schritt für Schritt das Skifahren,
</div>
<div>• werden sie von speziell ausgebildeten Begleitsportler:innen (Guide) geführt,
</div>
<div>• erleben sie Gemeinschaft, in der niemand „anders“ ist,
</div>
<div>• wachsen Mut, Selbstvertrauen und Selbstständigkeit.

<div>Unsere Guides erklären geduldig jede Bewegung, sind immer in Ruf- oder Griffweite und geben den Kindern das Gefühl absoluter Sicherheit. Ohne ihre Begleitung wäre diese Woche unmöglich.

<div><strong>When the impossible suddenly becomes possible</strong>
</div>
<div>It often starts with uncertainty: "How am I supposed to do this? I can't see anything."
</div>
<div>The children cautiously feel their way over the skis, their fingers gliding over edges and bindings. They reach for their helmets, listening to the voice of their guide, who patiently explains each step. And then something emerges that transcends any athletic achievement: trust – in the people guiding them and in their own bodies, which are suddenly venturing into new territory.
</div>
<div>A girl who can neither see nor hear spends two days getting to grips with the equipment. Inch by inch, she learns the movements. Until – held by a special rope – she actually stands on skis for the first time. She receives commands through various pulling motions. And then it happens: she starts skiing. Still wobbly, but independently. A moment in which time seems to stand still. A moment you feel – even if you can't see her smile.

<div>Such moments are at the heart of our work at BLINDSPORTS AUSTRIA. They show: Each of these children possesses so much strength, courage, and joy for life – they just need a chance to discover it.

<div><strong>What the children will experience this week</strong>
</div>
<div>During the ski week from January 2nd to 6th, 2027 in Hintermoos/Salzburg
</div>
<div>• 16 blind and visually impaired children will learn to ski step by step,
</div>
<div>• They will be guided by specially trained ski guides,
</div>
<div>• They will experience a community where no one is "different,"
</div>
<div>• Courage, self-confidence, and independence will grow.
</div>
<div>Our guides patiently explain every movement, are always within earshot or reach, and give the children a feeling of absolute security. This week would be impossible without their support.
