<div>Help build a mosque in rural Vietnam!

<div>Masjid Jamius Sunnah is a mosque currently under construction in Ha Bao 2 hamlet, Da Phuoc town, An Phu district, An Giang province, in rural Vietnam. <strong>The original masjid was demolished for new construction more than two years ago. Due to financial difficulties, the construction has not been completed to this day.</strong> The original masjid was very old and deteriorated, thus making it unsafe for prolonged use. It was also very small and could not accommodate many worshippers.

<div><strong>The project consists of the following:</strong>
</div>
<ul>
<li>Ground floor: Building 4 (four) classrooms to teach Islamic knowledge and for memorising the Holy Quran. The total capacity of the four classrooms is approximately <strong>160 students.</strong>
</li>
<li>First floor: Building a prayer hall for brothers, which can accommodate approximately <strong>400 men.</strong>
</li>
<li>Second floor: Building a prayer hall for sisters, which can accommodate approximately <strong>200 women.</strong>
</li>
<li>Building the masjid's dome and two minarets.
</li>
</ul>

<div>The total cost of the project is $510,000 USD (approx. $794,000 AUD). However, $225,400 USD (approx. $351,000 AUD) has been raised thus far, which allowed for the construction of the slabs and brickwork, as seen in the video. <strong>The remaining amount needed to complete the construction of this masjid is $284,600 USD (approx. $443,000 AUD).</strong>

<div><strong>Currently, the community is looking to complete the rough construction of the masjid, including the mezzanine walls, roof, dome and two high minarets (towers). This equates to approximately $26,600 AUD, which is the first stage we are trying to reach in this fundraiser. </strong>

<div><strong>EDIT (21/09/2025): </strong>The masjid committee would like to raise the full amount needed to cover the cost of the construction.<strong> This equates to approximately $438,567 AUD ($289,199 USD).</strong>
