Valentina nació con hipoacusia bilateral profunda y severa, lo que significa que el mundo del sonido siempre ha sido muy poquito para ella. Desde chiquita ha luchado con todo su corazoncito para poder hablar, aprender y jugar como cualquier otra niña. Gracias a sus auxiliares auditivos y a muchísimas horas de terapia, ha logrado escuchar un poquito, decir palabras hermosas y entender tanto como puede. ¡Es una campeona!Pero en marzo de 2025 pasó algo que nos rompió el alma: perdió casi la mitad de la poquita audición que le quedaba en su oído derecho. Desde entonces, las clases en la primaria se le han vuelto muy difíciles. Le cuesta muchísimo concentrarse, seguir las explicaciones y disfrutar con sus compañeritos. A veces la vemos esforzarse tanto… y se nos parte el corazón.Valentina es candidata perfecta para un implante coclear, un aparatito maravilloso que podría abrirle las puertas a un mundo de sonidos mucho más claro. Con él, podría escuchar casi como nosotros, terminar la primaria sin tantas barreras, aprender nuevas cosas con facilidad y, sobre todo, disfrutar de verdad la música, el baile y el arte que tanto ama. Imagínense su carita cuando escuche por primera vez una canción completa, o la voz de sus amigos riendo cerca de ella… ¡sería mágico!Sabemos que estos implantes son caros (en México y en el mundo suelen costar entre 1 y 3 millones de pesos por oído, más las terapias que vienen después), pero encontramos un camino lleno de esperanza: la operación sería en San Diego, California, con doctores expertos que se especializan en niños como ella. Gracias a terapeutas, amigos y personas de buen corazón que nos han guiado y conectado con los especialistas correctos, estamos más cerca que nunca.Valentina es una niña normal, súper inteligente, alegre y dispuesta a todo. <div>Hello, I'm Grecia, mom of Valentina, a beautiful 10-year-old girl who lights up everything around her with her smile and energy. Valentina was born with profound bilateral severe hearing loss, which means the world of sound has always been very limited for her. Since she was little, she has fought with all her little heart to be able to speak, learn, and play like any other girl. Thanks to her hearing aids and countless hours of therapy, she has managed to hear a little, say beautiful words, and understand as much as she can. She's a true champion!But in March 2025, something happened that broke our hearts: she lost almost half of the little hearing she had left in her right ear. Since then, classes in elementary school have become very difficult for her. She struggles a lot to concentrate, follow explanations, and enjoy time with her classmates. Sometimes we see her trying so hard... and it breaks our hearts.Valentina is a perfect candidate for a cochlear implant, a wonderful device that could open the doors to a much clearer world of sounds for her. With it, she could hear almost like we do, finish elementary school with far fewer barriers, learn new things easily, and above all, truly enjoy the music, dancing, and art she loves so much. Imagine her little face when she hears a complete song for the first time, or the voices of her friends laughing close by... it would be magical!We know these implants are expensive (in Mexico and around the world, they usually cost between 1 and 3 million pesos per ear, plus the follow-up therapies), but we found a path full of hope: the surgery would take place in San Diego, California, with expert doctors who specialize in children like her. Thanks to therapists, friends, and kind-hearted people who have guided us and connected us with the right specialists, we are closer than ever.Valentina is a normal girl—super smart, cheerful, and willing to do anything.
