In May 2019 <a href="https://fccithaca.org/">First Congregational Church of Ithaca</a>  voted overwhelmingly <a href="https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/central-ny/news/2019/05/10/ithaca-church-declares-sanctuary-church-status">to become a Sanctuary Church</a> , joining <a href="https://www.sanctuarynotdeportation.org/">an international movement</a>  to support and advocate for vulnerable immigrants. As part of this new mission, we are undertaking some renovations to our church building in order to safely and comfortably accommodate a sanctuary guest.  Our immediate need: $25,000, for ·        Adding security to the building ·        Converting part of our youth room into living space and bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40392582_1563208442422819_r.jpeg" alt="40392582_1563208442422819_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> Transforming pipes into a bathroom! <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40392582_1563208915114171_r.jpeg" alt="40392582_1563208915114171_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> FCC of Ithaca--Ithaca's only Sanctuary Church
